FC Cincinnati struggles on the road yet again. The United States can’t win on the road in a match that guarantees them qualification into the World Cup. The parallels between these two teams are strikingly similar. We discuss on this week’s podcast. Get downloading!

Our episode captain this week is Harry! Harry, thank you so much for your generosity! If you’d like to wear the armband for an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk log onto CincinnatiSoccerTalk.com/support.

Highlights from this week’s show.

Boston, Yosief and I talk about the embarrassing loss over the weekend to the Ottawa Fury, a team that had NOTHING to play for other than play spoiler to FC Cincinnati’s postseason hopes. With the loss, FC Cincinnati may have to win this weekend in order to clinch a playoff spot. They’ll need some help on Thursday night by the Tampa Bay Rowdies when they hit the road against Orlando who is also fighting for a spot.

In our second segment, we talk about the confidence we have in this team to get a result on the road in Toronto this weekend. It could potentially be a must-win game for FC Cincinnati. It’s entirely possible that we’ll know FC Cincinnati’s playoff chances after Thursday night.

Lastly, we discuss how the USMNT missing the 2018 World Cup will affect soccer in the Tri-State. It’s crazy how similar FC Cincinnati and the US have fared this year. Both teams can’t win on the road in games that matter.

Plus we ended the show with our final Growler Cup predictions of the year!

Thanks WVXU!

FC Cincinnati is hanging on for dear life for a playoff spot in the USL Eastern Conference. Those 3 points picked up in Charlotte were HUGE. But is this team playing well right now? How are you feeling heading into the postseason? Get downloading folks!

No episode captain this week! If you’d like to wear the armband for an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk log onto CincinnatiSoccerTalk.com/support.

Highlights from this week’s show.

That wasn’t the prettiest of soccer ever BUT it got the job done on Friday night as FC Cincinnati squeaked out a 1-0 win over 3rd place Charlotte. Kenney Walker was sent off due to receiving two yellow cards and GK Mitch Hildebrandt made a 2 point saving save late on a Charlotte penalty kick. Would you believe that this team is currently on a 6-match unbeaten run? Could have fooled us. Are you concerned with the teams form? Or is it more like get 3 points any way you can now at this point. Let us know!

Hamilton County Commissioners identify 4 major infrastructure projects for consideration and BOOM, FC Cincinnati’s soccer-specific stadium made the list. Check out the interesting quotes from Todd Portune on the new projects. READ HERE

It was a busy night for FC Cincinnati fans, a march to the Hamilton County Commissioners meeting AND an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk! What a Tuesday night! Get downloading folks!

No episode captain this week! If you’d like to wear the armband for an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk log onto CincinnatiSoccerTalk.com/support.

Highlights from this week’s show.

We start the show off by discussing the 2-2 draw with Saint Louis FC. With the draw, FC Cincinnati stayed in 6th place and despite Bethlehem Steel having 2 games in hand over the orange and blue. The match was a disappointing match for FC Cincinnati as they found themselves down in this ballgame. However, a LATE penalty kick goal from Danny Konig allowed FC Cincinnati to escape St. Louis with a point.

Our own Bill Wolf was on location tonight for the Hamilton County Commissioner's Meeting where the topic of discussion was about "big box" projects. For instance, things like FC Cincinnati's soccer-specific stadium, U.S. Bank Arena, etc. Bill talked about the march into the meeting that was led by FC Cincinnati President and GM Jeff Berding. It was great to see photos from the passionate FC Cincinnati fans who showed up to support the Build it Here movement.

We also discuss the potential upcoming playoff opponents, if FC Cincinnati makes it, and determine which Eastern Conference opponents we’d LIKE to face and which ones we’d rather stay as far away from as possible.

Plus we ended the show with our Growler Cup predictions!

What a way to cap off the FC Cincinnati 2017 home season! A beat down of the Baby Bulls and 3 absolute screamers for goals. We dissect that and more on this week’s show. Get downloading!

No episode captain this week! If you’d like to wear the armband for an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk log onto CincinnatiSoccerTalk.com/support.

Highlights from this week’s show.

We start the show off by discussing the big 4-2 win over New York Red Bulls II. With the win, FC Cincinnati climbed up to 6th place in the Eastern Conference. The 3 goals scored by Corben Bone, Harrison Delbridge, and Kenney Walker were absolute beauties. Which goal was most impressive to you?

Pat Brennan covers FC Cincinnati for the Cincinnati Enquirer and he does a fantastic job. Pat’s a soccer guy at heart, not just a sports junkie assigned to a soccer beat. Pat has some soccer playing experience at the college level and is soccer fanatic. Just ask him about Wigan Athletic. This week we ask him about the differences between the 2016 and 2017 seasons. He’s also made it very clear that he’s a fan of Alan Koch and feels that he’s done a great job this year with FC Cincinnati. Give Pat a follow over at @pbrennanENQ for all his FCC tweets.

Of course, we wrapped up the show by giving our Growler Cup predictions for the upcoming Saint Louis FC match. Be sure to check out Bryan’s March to Matchday coming out later this week for an in-depth preview!

FC Cincinnati was off this weekend but that doesn’t stop the CST train from moving forward. On this week’s show, we’re joined by Andrew Wiedeman AND Jimmy McLaughlin! It was one of the most entertaining interviews we’ve ever done you won’t want to miss it. Get downloading folks!

Highlights from this week’s show.

We had an absolute blast this week catching up with both Jimmy and Andrew. We asked them a WIDE, and I mean a WIDE range of questions this week. From who’s their favorite superhero to who would play them in a movie. Plus we find out their pregame rituals and Andrew’s preparation for his upcoming nuptials.

We ended the show taking your calls and of course we gave our Growler Cup predictions for Tuesday night’s match against the Harrisburg City Islanders.

Despite having a “vacation” last week and some much-needed rest, FC Cincinnati stumbled out of the blocks in the first 3 minutes of the match against Pittsburgh. It’s getting down to squeaky bum time for the Orange and Blue. On this week’s show, we recap the match and talk about the USWNT friendly at Nippert in a few weeks. Get downloading!

Jude Thom is our episode captain this week! Thank you, Jude, for your tremendous generosity! If you’d like to wear the armband for an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk log onto CincinnatiSoccerTalk.com/support.

Highlights from this week’s show.

We welcomed back Griffin after his “banishment” from the show as well as Brad and Yosief on this week’s podcast. We started off the show by ripping FC Cincinnati a new one after that poor start against Pittsburgh. We’re baffled how this team can look so great against great competition like the Crew, Fire, Miami FC, etc but can’t seem to get out of their own way against teams near them in the table. They were dominated this year by Bethlehem, Orlando City, Red Bulls II, and now they dropped points against Pittsburgh, a team that’s never scored against them, EVER.

Jason Ridge from American Outlaws Cincinnati joined us on the show this week to chat about the supporters group in the Queen City. Jason couldn’t go into to much detail regarding their plans for the upcoming USWNT match later this month at Nippert Stadium. IF you’re interested in joining AO, you can join by going to TheAmericanOutlaws.com

Good buddy of the show Ethen Weimer called into the show this week and he wanted to know “What’s the magic points number for FC Cincinnati to make the playoffs?” What do you think?

We also discussed the recent news surrounding NASL’s sanctioning from Division 2 to Division 3 starting in 2018. Read more about it here

Supporters Groups of FC Cincinnati are organizing a fundraising effort to provide water/relief to those affected by Hurricane Harvey. If you’d like to contribute, you can do so by going to CincinnatiSoccerTalk.com/harvey.

FC Cincinnati had the weekend off but their hiatus started with a bang with a big win over the Ottawa Fury last week. Plus the 2nd Annual CST FootGolf Classic was a huge success!

Mike Hudson is our episode captain this week! Thank you, Mike, for your tremendous generosity! If you’d like to wear the armband for an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk log onto CincinnatiSoccerTalk.com/support.

Highlights from this week’s show.

We welcomed back Ben and Yosief back to this week’s podcast. We recapped the big win over the Ottawa Fury last week as Danny Konig, Jimmy McLaughlin and Sem de Wit got on the scoresheet for FC Cincinnati. It was a big win that ended a pretty drastic slide for FCC. Not only that, it helped them jump from 9th place in the East to 6th place, they now sit 7th.

Tom Grabo, the Cincy Super Fan joined us on the show this week to chat about this past weekend’s Cincinnati Soccer Talk FootGolf Classic held at Woodland Golf Course. We are proud to announce that we raised over $1600 for Sports Games for Kids this year! Thanks to everyone who came out to the event this year and we’re already excited to get to planning for next year’s event!

Yersky called in to discuss the road form for FC Cincinnati. They’ve only managed to win 2 road games this season and their schedule the rest of the way is road heavy. Are you concerned with ending the season on the road for 4 straight matches?

Friend of the show Jono called into the show this week to talk about something that’s been on his mind since the devastating destruction in Texas this week due to Hurricane Harvey. He is organizing a fundraising effort to provide water/relief to those affected. If you’d like to contribute, you can do so by going to CincinnatiSoccerTalk.com/harvey.

Ben chimes in with his thoughts on Pittsburgh Riverhounds midfielder Corey Hertzog. He wouldn’t mind seeing this guy in orange and blue next year. This weekend’s game against Pittsburgh has massive playoff implications. It’s another must win game for FC Cincinnati.

We wrapped the show by giving out our Growler Cup predictions. It’s getting down to crunch time but it’s not too late to join up! Do you want to take part in the CST Growler Cup? Well. Not much you can say about the past week for FC Cincinnati other than, ugh. Head Coach Alan Koch joins us this week to discuss the recent poor form. Get downloading folks!

No episode captain this week. If you’d like to wear the armband for an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk log onto CincinnatiSoccerTalk.com/support.

Highlights from this week’s show.

Bryan, Bill, Boston and I recap the 4-0 result against New York Red Bulls II. Just like after Louisville, not much to say other than yuck. Moving on.

FC Cincinnati Head Coach Alan Koch joined us on the show this week to give us a glimpse of how he’s feeling after this poor run of form for FC Cincinnati. During our chat with Alan, he mentioned that he was “embarrassed” after the clubs performance in New York. He also understands what the players are going through right now. It’s pretty obvious from watching the games of late that the Orange and Blue are not all there, mentally and physically. Fatigue has started to hit this team HARD. You can tell that Coach Koch is not satisfied with a semifinal run in the Open Cup and is certainly displeased with sitting 9th in the league. He is feeling positive about the direction the team is taking after training sessions this week. Plus there is some much needed time off for the players this weekend.

After Bryan and Seubs each earned a point last week in the Growler Cup, we each went around predicting the score in Wednesday night’s game against the Ottawa Fury.

We ended this week’s show on a sad note with the recent passing of FC Cincinnati fan Peyton West. Read more about it here. Our thoughts and prayers are with the West family.

Seubs Radio Alert!

I will be on Lance McAlister’s show Wednesday afternoon on 1530 Homer at 4:45. Tune in as we discuss FCC and our upcoming FootGolf Classic this weekend!

Due to Tuesday night’s game, we had to record this week’s episode of CST on a special Sunday night. Plus, I don’t know if it would have been healthy to wait a few more days to discuss what happened in Louisville on Saturday night. Probably best to get it out of our systems now. On to bigger and better things! Get downloading!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR NOMINATIONS FOR THE PODCAST AWARDS!

Thank you for your nominations we are FINALISTS in the 2017 Podcast Awards! We love doing this show for YOU and the FC Cincinnati community. We’ll now find out if we win on September 30th on International Podcast Day!

Highlights from this week’s show.

Brad, Bill, Bryan and I recap the 5-0 result against Louisville. Not much to say other than yuck. Moving on.

David Gass from MLSSoccer.com and the Extratime Radio podcast joins us this week to discuss the ramifications for Tuesday night’s game against MLS side New York Red Bulls. He has extensive knowledge of the Red Bulls system and breaks it all down for us. If you haven’t checked out or listened to Extratime Radio I strongly recommend it.

Brad was one of the few FC Cincinnati fans ejected from Saturday night’s game in Louisville for NOT throwing a streamer in the 80th minute. We asked the question of fans before they called in, would you ever go back to watch FC Cincinnati play in Louisville?

As usual, we wrapped up the show by predicting the score in Tuesday night’s game against the New York Red Bulls.

We absolutely love it when FC Cincinnati’s Jeff Berding takes a few minutes of his time to join us on the podcast. I’m not sure if there is a busier man in the Queen City at the moment than him. Jeff as always brings it on this episode of the podcast. We touch on the stadium, ticketing, officiating and more. Get downloading!

Our episode captain this week is Tom Niehaus! Tom thank you so much for supporting our show. If you’d like to wear the armband for an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk, you can by going to CincinnatiSoccerTalk.com/support.

Highlights from this week’s show.

Boston, Bill, Yosief and I recap the 2-2 draw over the weekend against Orlando City B. A result that many of you may have mixed emotions over. For one, FC Cincinnati scored in the first 10 minutes and had a penalty kick called in their favor. But with the missed penalty, Orlando was let off the hook and they made FC Cincinnati pay. In the end, it was a thrilling finish as Danny Konig scored in 2nd half stoppage time to knot things up. If you’re doing the match this year, out of 9 possible points against Orlando, FC Cincinnati only mustered up 2. That’s not good.

Jeff Berding is THE man and he stops by the show this week to talk about the latest updates surrounding FC Cincinnati. We hit on a bunch of topics with Jeff, including the fact that he’s really excited for all 3 possible stadium locations in Cincinnati. Jeff discussed the recent contract extensions for some of the coaches and players. Last week was the owners meeting for the USL and Jeff had a chance to talk about league expansion, conference realignment, possibly a new central division in 2019 for USL and the addition of 2 more games to the USL schedule. He also made his input known when discussing officiating in the USL.

Hard to believe that this Louisville matchup is being overlooked with New York Red Bulls coming to town on Tuesday, but it kind of feels like it is. Lots of phone calls tonight discussing a potential lineup for Saturday night. Do you think Alan Koch is going to go for it or will he save some of his men for Tuesday’s huge US Open Cup semifinal?

As usual, we wrapped up the show by predicting the score in our Growler Cup contest.

I think as a fanbase it’s best that we all just move on from what happened Saturday night for FC Cincinnati at Nippert Stadium. Though, that’s easy to say if you weren’t there. 23,000 folks got the raw end of that deal on Saturday night. I don’t blame you for being upset. The best way to get over crappy results like that is to have a quick midweek game to forget about it. It just also happens to be the biggest game in FC Cincinnati’s short history. Get downloading folks!

Highlights from this week’s show.

Boston, Ken and I recap the crazy result from Saturday night that saw Djiby sent off in the first half after accumulating two yellow cards. We each had our own takes on the matter, some might not be popular with FC Cincinnati fans.

We are joined this week by Nipun Chopra from SocTakes.com. Nipun has followed Division 2 soccer and the NASL quite closely the last few years. He gives us the scouting report on FC Cincinnati’s opponent Wednesday night in Miami FC. He also discusses with us the potential of USL and NASL merging someday. If you don’t follow Nipun on Twitter, you are really missing out. You can follow him @nipunchopra7.

Matt Adamchik called in to talk about the Welcome Home event folks are planning to celebrate FC Cincinnati’s return from Miami on Thursday. Get to the baggage claim area at CVG around 3:30 if you want to participate!

Despite Wednesday night’s big game, FC Cincinnati has another tough match at home on Saturday night against Orlando City B. We give our predictions in this week’s Growler Cup.

What a weekend for FC Cincinnati. First, they had to deal with not one but TWO weather delays on Saturday night. Plus, 48 hours later they faced off against Valencia from Spain’s La Liga. All while celebrating the football career of Omar Cummings. Oh yeah, I painted up too. What a weekend! Get downloading today!

Highlights from this week’s show.

Bill, Boston and I recap a very crazy Saturday night. From 90 degree heat to lots of lightning, there was a lot going on during FC Cincinnati’s match against Harrisburg City Islanders. In the end of FC Cincinnati prevailed thanks to goals by Djiby, Konig, and McLaughlin. Even more awesome was that Mitch Hildebrandt notched his 10th Widmers Cleaners Clean Sheet of the season!

I was a man of my word and yes I actually painted up this weekend. It was an absolute blast this weekend and more importantly, FC Cincinnati got the 3 points! My thanks to Ben Knapp who waxed me. Thanks to Tom Grabo who painted me. Thanks to Chris Weimer for painting up with me. Thanks to Stevie for entertaining me during the weather delays. If I missed thanking anyone, I’m sorry, just know that I am thankful for everyone!

We also talked about the retirement of Omar Cummings. What a career the Big Cat had. From his MLS Championship in Colorado to now, it’s been quite the ride. Congrats on calling it a career!

The Valencia game to many was a dud, many thought it was amazing. It’s odd to see how polarizing this topic has become. The CST crew discuss whether or not this is something FC Cincinnati should do every year or maybe space it out between years. What say you?
