HIGHLIGHTS FROM THIS WEEK’S SHOW.

On this week’s show, I’m back hosting with Geoff Tebbetts, Bill Wolf, and Michael Lahoud.

We open up the show discussing the report from The Post Cincy that FC Cincinnati is in negotiations with Newcastle United midfielder Kyle Scott. Scott is a 23-year old midfielder who started his professional career at Chelsea in their youth ranks. He’s been a member of the USYNT U15, U18, and U20 squads. We fill you in on who we feel about this signing. Mike didn’t mince words.

Since Mike was absent last week due to not having any power in Texas, he didn’t get a chance to chime in on the Frankie Amaya report from The Athletic. He also didn’t mince words here.

We were thrilled to welcome back friend of the show Paul Nicholson. Paul was a member of the very first FC Cincinnati team back in 2016. He has started his coaching career previously with the Cincinnati Dutch Lions. Now you can find him roaming the dugout for the new USL League 2 announced last weekKings Hammer FC. We talk to Paul about why a USL League 2 team in Cincy is necessary and how Kings Hammer will be involved. It was great catching up with Nico!

It’s Kit Reveal Week! We discuss our thoughts on last year’s kits and where we hope the Orange and Blue go this week with their new home 2021 kits.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THIS WEEK’S SHOW.

On this week’s show, we’re joined by Michael Lahoud, Brad Weigel, and Coach Brad Gough returns to discuss the news that striker Brenner from Sao Paulo will be joining FC Cincinnati for the 2021 MLS season. An expected official announcement will be made by the club tomorrow but the club more or less confirmed his signing with a cool video Monday night. Kudos Matt Shisler! Well done.

To learn more about Brenner and what kind of striker FC Cincinnati are getting, we’re joined this week on the show by Pedro Luis Cuenca from Territorio MLS. I made the mistake on the show saying that their website is a Portuguese website. I apologize for this error, their website is a Brazilian website covering Major League Soccer. My mistake and I apologize for misspeaking.

We also discuss the news CST was able to report last week that former Atlanta United midfielder Pity Martinez is heading to Cincy after a short stint in Saudi Arabia with Al Nassr.

The CBA was officially ratified today between MLS owners and the MLSPA. What does it mean going forward? We discuss.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THIS WEEK’S SHOW.

On this week’s show, we’re joined by Michael Lahoud, Bill Wolf returns, and we’re pleased to announce the debut of new CST contributor, Geoff Tebbetts.

We opened up the show by discussing the news that MLS will kick off its preseason on February 22nd and its Regular Season on April 3rd, barring a new Collective Bargaining Agreement has been reached between MLS ownership and the MLSPA.

We then discussed FC Cincinnati GM Gerard Nijkamp’s comments during last week’s press conference. You can read more about it from our Jeff Wallner here.

Of course, Michael was absolutely thrilled for our chat with fellow Wake Forest Demon Deacon Calvin Harris. After a fine career at Wake, Harris was selected with the 2nd Overall pick in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft. We find out a little bit more about FC Cincinnati’s newest member, including the team he supports back home, and life abroad. We can’t wait to see him on the pitch at West End Stadium!

Late in the show, we discussed the report from The Athletic’s Jeff Rueter, Sam Stejskal, and Paul Tenorio regarding Frankie Amaya and other MLS teams reaching out to FC Cincinnati for his services. The report states that the trade request from some of these clubs matched or was close to what Atlanta was able to get in their trade with the Columbus Crew for Darlington Nagbe. You can read more about this here. (subscription required)

We wrapped up the show with Bill and Geoff discussing “Let them Play”, a campaign put together by the Independent Supporters Council regarding their feelings on a potential lockout.
