Does it get any better than this? FC Cincinnati hosting the Chicago Fire tonight, on the Worldwide Leader, AND CST was live at Tifo Night??? What a week if you’re a fan of FC Cincinnati. Get downloading folks!

No episode captain this week. If you’d like to wear the armband for an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk, support us today!

Highlights from this week’s show.

We start our first Tuesday night show ON LOCATION at the American Sign Museum and what a treat that was! If you haven’t been, it’s a must see attraction in my book. What a great venue to host an event. Hat tip to Kevin from the American Sign Museum for being super helpful getting us all set up for our show. Tuesday night was the first time I’ve had the chance to record a podcast in person with the CST crew and it was a blast. It needs to happen more often.

We started the show off by taking a look back at last weekend’s 2-0 win over Saint Louis FC. We have their number outscoring them 10-1 all-time in the series. Not bad.

Unfortunately we didn’t have the ability to take phone calls, however, we did have a mic setup for the Kings Hammer Hotshot. Fans at Tifo Night had the chance to chime in this week. We had some great questions from Todd, Dave, Ken Hoetker from CST, Matt, Chris, it was good to hear from so many folks this week.

Did you know that FC Cincinnati plays Chicago Fire tonight? Not sure if you’ve heard that yet or not. 25,000 tickets have already been sold for tonight’s game! That’s awesome! Brad, Bill and I debate what kind of lineup we’ll see from Chicago, particularly whether or not Bastian Schweinsteiger will play.

We also look ahead to next week’s Florida road trip as FC heads down to the Sunshine State for a pair of games against Orlando City B and the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Make sure you check out our March to Matchday Podcast with Bryan Weigel!

Jeff Berding has been the most frequent guest on this podcast, for good reason too. When he comes on he brings it! This episode is a must listen! Get downloading this podcast today!

No episode captain this week. If you’d like to wear the armband for an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk, support us today!

Highlights from this week’s show.

We start the show off with a bang and visit right away with FC Cincinnati President and General Manager, Jeff Berding. Jeff talks about a number of topics on this week’s podcast. He dives deep into everything surrounding the stadium. From the design, to where it will ultimately end up. Jeff is open an honest and talks about his desire to build a world-class facility for fans of FC Cincinnati.

We take phone calls from lots of FC Cincinnati fans who want to chime in about where the stadium should be located. We heard from folks who live in Kentucky but say that the stadium should be built on the Ohio side of the river. Max is a very vocal fan who has made it very clear his desire to have the stadium remain in Cincinnati. I absolutely love the dialogue and debate this is stirring up. Want to have your say? Join the live show and call in some time!

Despite the great result last week against Crew SC, FC Cincinnati could only muster up a home draw against the Charleston Battery. Their league form right now isn’t great as they are currently right on that line between a playoff team and going home early with no postseason. They need to start picking up points, and in a hurry.

Much like last week’s podcast episode, we’re not really sure why or how it took 69 episodes to get Kenney Walker on the show but are we glad we did! By the way, did you hear that FC Cincinnati face the Crew Wednesday night? Get downloading this podcast today!

No episode captain this week. If you’d like to wear the armband for an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk, support us today!

Highlights from this week’s show.

We start the show off discussing last weekend’s 1-1 draw at home to Charlotte. Considering that last weekend was basically a throwaway game with all of the squad rotation, you figure that FC Cincinnati would come out firing on all cylinders, rested and ready to go at home. Yeah, we got that one wrong.

Joining us on the Kings Hammer Hotline this week is special guest, Kenney Walker, midfielder from FC Cincinnati. Kenney talks about growing up in Ohio and how he was never really a fan of the Crew. He knows this is a big game between the two sides, and all though he stays off social media, he hears everything that’s going down between the two fanbases. He also admitted on this very program his true feelings about Skyline Chili.

FC Cincinnati on Monday unveiled their soccer-specific stadium plans and, surprise surprise, it involved Newport, KY. Our own Boston was there at the event and gave us the full report here

Not really sure how it took us 68 episodes to get “The Captain” on the program but we finally did. FC Cincinnati’s Austin Berry joined us this week! Get downloading today!

This week’s episode is brought to you by the Cincinnati Dutch Lions. Get your tickets for home matches this year at NKU by logging on to cdlfc.com.

Speaking of Captains, no episode captain this week. If you’d like to wear the armband for an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk, support us today!

Highlights from this week’s show.

We start the show off with a bang discussing last weekend’s 1-0 loss to Rochester. Boston held nothing back when it comes to the FC Cincinnati goalkeepers. Many of us weren’t surprised at the squad rotation over the weekend and understood why it needed to be done.

Joining us on the Kings Hammer Hotline this week is special guest, Austin Berry, defender and team captain from FC Cincinnati. Austin talks about his year in 2017, specifically the fact that he’s been able to stay healthy compared to last year. He credits his offseason routine for helping him stay fit this season. He also confirms a rumor about the Nippert Stadium turf. Austin also discusses his favorite player growing up, Thierry Henry, who starred for Arsenal, Barcelona and the New York Red Bulls in MLS.

It was announced, finally, this week that FC Cincinnati will play host to another international friendly. This time it’s Valencia from Spain’s La Liga who will be taking on the orange and blue.

PLUS, it was revealed this week that with FC Cincinnati’s win over that team down south in the US Open Cup, that I will, in fact, be painting up for a match sometime this summer. I’m apologizing to the Queen City in advance. With that win though, FC Cincinnati gets to host THE COLUMBUS CREW! Bring it on! Plus it means another Widmers Cleaners Clean Sheet.

Look at those steely eyes. Without saying a word, Justin Hoyte’s saying “don’t mess with us”. A big week for FC Cincinnati kicks off tonight as they host Louisville City FC in the US Open Cup. They also hit the road this weekend and head to Rochester to take on the Rhinos. We discuss it all and a bunch more on this week’s podcast. Get downloading today!

Highlights from this week’s show.

Ken Hoetker makes his debut as a CST analyst this week! Give it up for Ken! We opened up the show by discussing the 1-0 win over Toronto FC II. That makes 4 Widmers Clean Sheets this season! Check out their Fluff and Fold Laundry service over at WidmersCleaners.com. A big reason for that clean sheet? Tyler Polak for FC Cincinnati who was voted Man of the Match here at CST and was also named to the USL Team of the Week for his performance against TFC II.

Djiby’s suspension is nearly over so Ken, Bryan and I talk about potential lineup combinations if Alan Koch ever decides to go with 2 strikers rather than 1.Joining us on the Kings Hammer Hotline this week is

Joining us on the Kings Hammer Hotline this week is special guest, Justin Hoyte, defender from FC Cincinnati. Justin fills us in on his long road to fitness after getting hurt just 12 minutes into his USL debut. He was in the 18 over the weekend so that means he’s good to go. He’s itching to make that home debut at Nippert Stadium soon. Justin is a lifelong Arsenal supporter, despite his dad being a Manchester United fan (GGMU). He hasn’t had a chance to try Skyline just yet but he’s added it to his list of must have’s soon.

Bryan wrote a fantastic piece last week regarding the stadium situation and MLS expansion which we discuss a bit on the show this week. Give it a read here.

Rain, rain, please stay away. I wish I had a practice bubble for all the coaching sessions we’ve had in the rain lately. Speaking of the weather, there was a bit of a delay last Saturday night during FC Cincinnati’s 2-1 win over Bethlehem. But the Orange and Blue pulled through. Get downloading today!

This week’s episode is brought to you by the Cincinnati Dutch Lions. Get your tickets for their home opener at NKU on May 21st at cdlfc.com.

Highlights from this week’s show.

Bryan, Yosief, Boston and I discuss the latest fundraising efforts for Sports Games for Kids. Bryan and Yosief have already hit their paint up threshold. Now we’re raising even more money. If we hit $1000, Boston will paint up and $1500 will get yours truly coated in paint for an FCC home match. To donate, log on to PayPal.me/SGFK.

We finally were able to get this guy on the podcast this week. We’ve been waiting for quite some time, even dating back to last year! But FC Cincinnati color analyst Kevin McCloskey joined us on this week’s podcast to discuss his role with the FC Cincinnati broadcast and how he’s seen soccer grow in the Queen City. Plus he fills us in on what his very first meal in the United States was. I’ll give you a hint, “whenever you’re feeling good and hungry……”

We had some great callers on this week’s podcast including Daniel, and Yersky as always. Plus we were surprised by another visit from our old friend Bill from Kentucky who had no filter when it comes to his recent experience in Louisville.

We also visited with Steve Bernasconi from The Soccer Tour. This guy is trekking across the US and Canada just to watch soccer matches and he’ll be in the Queen City very soon. To learn more about this road trip, log on to TheSoccerTour.com.

Finally, massive thanks to Stephen Starkey for supporting CST, he’s the most recent entrant into the Growler Cup. Don’t forget we could really use some hardware upgrades to make our live stream even better. You can help us do that by supporting the show!

Highlights from this week’s show.

Brad, Yosief, Bill and I recap the 2-0 loss to Orlando City B on Saturday night. The match was marred by a card-happy official but that is NOT the reason why FC Cincinnati lost on Saturday night. We do our best to get a grasp on the situation.Friend of the show

Friend of the show Tom Gelehrter, the Radio and TV voice of FC Cincinnati, joins on the podcast to talk about the rough start for FC Cincinnati this year. Tom is pretty patient and has the feeling that this team is so close to turning it around and the US Open Cup match might just be the game that flips the switch for FC Cincinnati. He also tells us who USL Productions has helped his broadcast this year.

So in the past week, FC Cincinnati has added a few players to the team, most recently Josu joined the squad. We talked about where he will fit in with the Orange and Blue.

Finally, massive thanks to Jeremy Schulz for the lovely flag. Pretty cool stuff. Glad they watched their tackles on Saturday….. Seubs Face on a Fla

The road woes continue for FC Cincinnati, though to be fair earning a point on the road in Richmond is a solid result. This week we opened up the phones for the WHOLE SHOW for another Free-For-All…. Download it today!

No Episode Captain this week. If you’d like to wear the armband for an episode of Cincinnati Soccer Talk, support us today!

Highlights from this week’s show.

Bryan, Yosief and I recap the 1-1 draw in Richmond on Saturday night. The match did not start well for FC Cincinnati who found themselves down a goal just 7 minutes in, to a team that’s scored 3 goals all year. Rough start. The first half, not good. Second half subs changed the game for FC Cincinnati.

We opened up the phones this week for a CST Free-For-All. Basically, anyone could call in, tweet in, email in anything they wanted to talk about related to FC Cincinnati. We had some great calls including Steven who wanted to talk about Daryl Fordyce and the position he SHOULD be playing. Also, Olivia was thrilled she didn’t have to talk about red cards this week but was bummed to hear that Andy Craven appears to be heading out of Cincy for a move to OKC Energy. Yersky called in and wanted to chat about the struggles on the road for FC Cincinnati.

Towards the end of the show, we teased an upcoming announcement regarding the 2nd Annual Cincinnati Soccer Talk Footgolf Classic. Stay tuned folks!

Highlights from this week’s show.

Bill, Bryan, Boston and I recap the 1-0 loss to Bethlehem Steel on Saturday night. The match statistics tell a different story of this match than the outcome shows. The Orange and Blue dominated the match in possession, shots, and shots on goal but couldn’t find the back of the net.

FC Cincinnati isn’t the only show in town when it comes to soccer. Sid van Druenen is the Technical Director and 1st year Head Coach of the Cincinnati Dutch Lions. He joined us on the podcast this week to talk about his team’s preparation for the season opener coming up on May 21st. It was cool hearing about the clubs background, it’s philosophy and more.

We opened up the phones and you flooded all of our lines! We hit on a BUNCH of topics like Andy Craven’s red card, the fans need to take a chill pill and R-E-L-A-X. Plus, should Mitch Hildebrandt be rested for a match in favor of Dallas Jaye?

We’re excited to welcome Cincinnati native and US Women’s National Team member Rose Lavelle to the podcast this week. We also can’t avoid the biting scandal involving Djiby…..

This week’s episode is brought to you by the Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC. Learn more about the Dutch Lions at cdlfc.com.

Highlights from this week’s show.

Bill, Bryan, Griffin and I recap the weekend’s festivities against Louisville and talk about the difficult homestand. FC Cincinnati took 5 points out of 9 in two games they had men sent off with red cards. That’s a win in our book.

The one and only Rose Lavelle, a.k.a. the Nutmeg Duchess joined us on the podcast this week. Rose was an All-Big Ten midfielder at Wisconsin. She’s a Cincinnati native and Mount Notre Dame graduate. She was the #1 overall pick by the Boston Breakers in the 2017 NWSL College Draft. She also recently earned her first cap playing with the US Women’s National Team where she’s quickly becoming a fan favorite.

We did our best to avoid the subject but we finally take a bite at the Djiby ordeal… too soon? We all think the accusations are pretty ludicrous.
