It only took us 49 episodes, but we FINALLY made it happen! FC Cincinnati Head Coach John Harkes joins us this week on the podcast. John tells us his thoughts on the new roster for 2017 and even offered up his thoughts on Video Assistant Referees. Download it today!
This week’s episode is sponsored by The Women’s Fund of the Greater Cincinnati Foundation. Get your tickets to see US Women’s Soccer legend Abby Wambach speak at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center on March 25th. Visit CincinnatiSoccerTalk.com/Abby for more details.
The captain of this week’s episode is Tim Bronsil! Tim has generously supported CST over at CincinnatiSoccerTalk.com/support. You should too!
John Harkes is a legend in US Soccer. He’s the first American player to play in the Premier League in England. He got his start in England with Sheffield Wednesday, arguably the greatest club name in England, in my opinion. He went on to play for Derby County and had a loan stint with West Ham United. John then came home stateside when MLS launched in 1996 joining DC United where he helped them win the first ever MLS Cup. He went on to also play for the New England Revolution and Columbus Crew. FC Cincinnati is his first coaching stint after many years as a fantastic broadcaster on ESPN and SiriusXM FC.
John discusses the new roster for 2017 and hints that there may be more signings to come.
He offers us up his take on Video Assistant Referees though clearly it’s a sore subject amongst many FC Cincinnati faithful.
He hasn’t tried Skyline Chili, yet.
Tough act to follow but Payne Rankin knocked it out of the park. Payne is the President of The Pride Supporters Group and they have a big event coming up this weekend. The Membership Bash and Scarf Release Party is Friday, January 27th at Molly Malone’s in Covington. Sounds like it’s going to be a great time so don’t miss it!

Also it was announced this week that Daryl Fordyce and Matt Bahner, a local soccer product, has joined the FC Cincinnati ranks as well.
Our guest this week is none other than Jay Schneider who serves as the General Manager for the Cincinnati Swerve, the city’s newest indoor soccer team. The Swerve recently won the Louisville Mockingbird Valley Invitational, and also were Midwest Division champions in 2015-2016. They currently feature Antoine Hoppenot from FC Cincinnati and Luke Spencer who contributed to FC Cincinnati last season. They have a big match this upcoming weekend. It’s a double header at GameTime Training Center in Fairfield, OH. The Swerve Academy play at 6:30 and the pro’s play at 8:30. Tickets are $6 at the door! Head on out and quench that soccer fix you’ve been craving.

On this week’s show we’re thrilled to be joined by Peter Wilt from Chicago NASL to discuss the USSF’s decision to have 2 Division 2 Leagues. Plus the latest FC Cincinnati news. Download it today!
On this week’s show we’re happy to be joined by special guest host Chad Hollingsworth from Scratching the Pitch and The USL Show.
However, the Guest of Honor this week (and I’m certain Chad agrees) is none other than Peter Wilt. Peter has many years of soccer experience under his belt through multiple leagues in this country. Right now Peter currently serves as the CEO of Chicago NASL, a project in which he’s trying to bring NASL soccer to downtown Chicago. He previously served as the President of Indy Eleven. He offered great insight on all of the developments regarding division status for both USL and NASL.
FC Cincinnati added 3 new players to their roster. Andy Craven (OKC Energy/Seattle Sounders), Marco Dominguez (FC Montreal) and Aaron Walker (BÍ/Bolungarvik in the Icelandic 1st Division).

Happy New Year from all of us at Cincinnati Soccer Talk! This week’s podcast features some of the latest FC Cincinnati news. Also some more MLS expansion discussion and more. Download it today!
Bill, Bryan, Boston and I discuss the latest FC Cincinnati news. Here’s some of the recent items of note:
We discuss a rumor surrounding a player transfer, César Benítez, a 26-year old Paraguayan who currently plays in Brazil’s top league for Coritiba. We also discuss some of the places where FC Cincinnati need to upgrade before the season starts.
Still no news from the USSF and division sanctioning for the NASL and USL.
We’re visited by Michael Stump from alchmst.com. Michael designed the orange flags you saw waiting in the Bailey stands this summer and of course was generosu enough to design the new Cincinnati Soccer Talk logo.
Finally, incoming Missouri governor Eric Greitens reiterates his decision to not support state funding for stadiums, including the proposed $200 million soccer stadium in downtown St. Louis.
